Scoot Mole
100 % Organic
Scoot MoleEveryone wants a beautiful lawn and garden but once the common ground mole enters the picture, there are instant problems. Fortunately, there's Scoot® Mole!

Scoot® Mole repellent comes in an easy to apply container that is ready to use. Simply attach to a garden hose end and turn it on. Other benefits include consistency of product to water ratio, safety of only USP grade castor oil, and longevity (average treatment lasts 10 to 12 weeks). Scoot® Mole is also registered with the EPA.  Scott R. Winterstein, Associate Professor of Wildlife Biology at Michigan State University has this to say after running field trials on Scoot Mole.  Recommended by James Harding with MSU Museum along with other products that could be used to treat your mole problem.

You can find Scoot® Mole in most upscale specialty catalogs including Whatever Works, Home Trends, Bird-X, and Amway and at garden centers nationwide including Ace Hardware, True Value Hardware, Do It Best Stores, Mills Farm & Fleet, and Blaine Supply.

*It is a good idea when buying the product to round up so you have more product that what is needed for the first treatment. This will allow you to do "banding" later (see below for details).

Tips for use:

Longevity:
Scoot® Mole will effectively treat your yard for up to 3 months. To prevent the moles from re-entering your yard, use the banding technique 3 months after the first application.

Banding: "BANDING" is the process of treating a small strip (10-20 feet wide) around the perimeter of a mole-free area.

Application in cold weather: Set ready-to-use
Scoot® Mole product in a basin of hot water to thin the oil.

Amount of water: Using water with application simulates a rain-storm causing the mole's food to come to the surface and coating food with oil. Recommended amount of water depends on the thatch layer thickness in any given area.

The secret to properly applying Scoot Mole is time. It takes from 25 to 35 minutes to properly apply Scoot® Mole. That's because the applicator is designed to simulate a rain storm. This ensures that the mole's food supply is adequately saturated. Because worms breathe through their skin, the heavy application of water forces them to the surface for air. When they move up through the soil they coat themselves with the castor oil.

Once the application is complete, nature takes its course. Moles have to eat their body weight every three days or they will dehydrate and die. After a few unpleasant meals, your unwanted guest will begin looking for a fresh food supply. This can take anywhere from a few days to two weeks. Follow-up applications--at roughly three month intervals--will discourage moles from returning to the area.

Scoot® Mole is available half gallon, gallon, and 2-1/2 gallon refills.
