Following are
answers to the questions we are most often asked about Scoot® Products. If you have
any other questions, please feel free to e-mail us at the address
listed in the left column.
Q. What is the most effective application of pepper spray?
A. ALL AREAS of critter concern must be
sprayed. Not only the perimeters, but the actual areas of their
interest MUST BE TARGETED (i.e., around the garden and in the
garden). Use as directed.
Q. Is pepper spray safe to apply to fruit?
A. Although the product is made of all food
grade components, we do recommend that only peel-protected fruit
receive direct application. The pepper is extremely spicy. It could
cause undesirable oral burning in humans.
Q. Will a human being become ill by ingesting pepper spray?
A. All ingredients are either USP or food grade
with no toxic values.
Q. How does pepper spray work?
A. It adheres to the fur and paws of the
animal. The animal rubs its eyes causing tearing and burning. The
critter vacates the area.
Q. Does the critter return?
A. Only until it learns that the discomfort of
the pepper spray repeats upon its return. DILIGENCE IN APPLICATION is
essential in accomplishing the goal of the BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION. In
most cases, optimum results can be expected in 7-10 days.
Q. Does the product damage Plants?
A. NO. Products may be used in ornamental
planting and flower gardens to help deter the critter. Try to avoid
spraying directly on the flower. They are very delicate.
Water can damage flowers. However because of the wide variety of plants
and weather conditions that may be encountered, we recommend testing
the product on small areas of plants you wish to treat before
determining whether to treat entire plant or plantings. Pest Solutions
is not responsible for any damage that may be caused to plants.
Q. Do Scoot Products kill grubs and worms?
A. NO. Scoot products are non-poisonous
repellents and will not kill the critter, worms or insects that it
comes in contact with.
Q. Will diluting the pepper spray with water reduce its
effectiveness?
A. YES. The product should be used at full
strength.
Q. How does the easy-to-use applicator work on the Scoot Mole
bottle?
A. With back label facing towards you break tab
off and turn the dial counter clockwise. The tab has been
placed there for shipping purposes only and is meant to be broken off.
Q. I can't
get any product to come out of the hose-end sprayer on my Scoot
Mole. What are my options?
A. there are 3 options; 1. Take the sprayer off the bottle
slowly to make sure the straw is still attached (if it is, don't pull
it all the way out to prevent spilling the oil). If it isn't attached, carefully
reattach it to the sprayer. If it is attached, try step 2.
Warm the oil. Place entire sealed bottle in a
bucket of hot water for ten minutes. Apply product immediately
after removing from bucket. The oil flows much better when it is
warm. 3. If the product still doesn't flow, then the
sprayer might be bad. This is rare, but it does happen. We
sell thousands of these sprayers, and average about 20 bad sprayers a
year. If the other two options didn't work, please call us at
800-460-7378, and we will gladly replace the sprayer for you.
